This year, Barcelona hosted the Gay Pride parade for the first time, filling the streets in the city centre with people from all over the world, floats and artists, celebrating this new LGBT festival, which is the largest in the Mediterranean.

During the week prior to the Pride, many venues in Barcelona and other Catalan towns took place, and hosted also many other activities, ranging from the LGBT Fire! film festival LGBT to an amateur sports competition.
