Western Australia Pride (27 Sep – 31 Oct 2009)
Sydneysiders might think they have it all when it comes to the gay scene, but they don’t – Perth boasts its very own Western Australia Pride. The month-long programme includes theatre, live music, a community picnic and a colourful street parade.
Homecoming - It is not all about Sydney
The festival is launched in style with Fairday, a huge community picnic in Russell Square, with cabaret singers, live music and dancing. The next few weeks are filled with high-spirited celebrations, serious debate and arts events. The festivities round off with the all-singing all-dancing Pride Parade.
In 2009, the festival theme is ‘Homecoming’.
This year, Connections Nightclub will help celebrate the night of nights by hosting the Official Pride Parade After Party. Pride & Connections promise you a night you will not forget!
- 3 Spaces including a renovated warehouse space next door to Connections which will be our Main Room
- Chillout on the terrace and party hard in the Connections Nightclub space
- Twice the size of last year’s party!
- Celebrate Homecoming with home grown talent
- Lane way to be open and licensed
- Amazing drag shows and spot performances throughout the night in all areas – entertainment everywhere you look!
- Party kicks off immediately after The Parade
- Party goes ’till 6am!!!
- Part proceeds donated to Pride WA – $15,000 was donated to Pride in 2008
