The olympic athlete Johan Jimmy Sjödin tells his gay love story.
Johan Jimmy Sjödin is an olympic athlete who competed in Atlanta Olympics in 1996, after which he left the sport for a greater reason: his sexual orientation.
This is not another story of homophobia, but about wanting to live life, as he says:
“I grew up with no social life because I had to train all day. I moved to the US when I was only 17 years old because I had a scholarship, so I came out of the close when I was living in L.A, and I decided to center on my personal life”.
Johan has worked as a waiter, fashion designer and he currently works as a graphic designer. Thanks to his decision of retiring from the strict lifestyle as an athlete and enjoying his own social and personal life, he met the person who now is his fiancé, Patrick Huber, a German bodybuilder.
Now they live together in Munich, and they have one of the most popular gay couples Instagram accounts. One of the most exciting moments of their relationship was when his boyfriend proposed in the romantic city of Venice. Everything went perfectly and they’re already planning their wedding, and even thinking of having kids!
Give it up for love with no barriers or limits! From Axel Hotels we want to cheer and support all those professional athletes who haven’t been able to center on their personal lives as Johan did. Nowadays, you shouldn’t have to sacrifice your future as elite athletes for living your life as anyone else!
